What was intended to be an all-out party in Kansas City during the Chiefs’ parade celebrating their Super Bowl LVIII crowning turned into a dark and tragic afternoon.
Last Wednesday, gun violence spread fear among fans with a gun shooting that left 21 injured and one person dead: Lisa Lopez-Galvan.
Kansas City Shooting: Who was Lisa Lopez?
Lopez-Galvan or better known in the entertainment world as ‘Lisa G’, was a Kansas City radio personality who was a broadcaster and DJ on the Taste of Tejano show on KKFI since 2022. The non-commercial independent radio station’s staff was in shock and, grieving upon learning that she succumbed to a gunshot wound to the abdomen after undergoing emergency surgery.

“It is with sincere sadness and an extremely heavy and broken heart that we let our community know that KKFI DJ Lisa Lopez-Galvan, host of Taste of Tejano lost her life today in the shooting at the KC Chiefs rally. Our hearts and prayers go out to her family,” they communicated on their networks.
“This senseless attack has left a family and this Kansas City community without a beautiful person,” it concludes.
Lisa, who had attended the Chiefs parade with her husband and eldest son, came from a family of Mexican heritage, as her father immigrated to the United States at a young age from the state of Jalisco.
